General Surgery

A doctor who has received training and certification in patient diagnostic, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management is a general surgeon. Making a diagnosis, managing the patient before, during, and after surgery, and providing surgical care are all included. A Certified surgeon will also have additional knowledge and experience relevant to the above areas in the following categories: Related disciplines, including anatomy, physiology, epidemiology, immunology, and pathology (including neoplasia).
